Featured on Natfka

It's been a while since we've put up a post as all of the Krewe have been busy while others are being trained on how to use Blogger.  A quick update today is that my Sanguinius has been featured on Natfka's site.

Feel free to take a look at the post and all of the other stuff he gets up there.  He's usually one of my first sources for what's coming in the hobby.

Unboxing- Blood Angels Crimson Paladins

Our first unboxing is coming much earlier than expected since a shiny (not really) box ended up on my desk today.  In it were my Crimson Paladins for my Horus Heresy era Blood Angels.  These guys are expensive, points and dollar wise, but the cost in cash is definitely worth it.  Almost every Legion in 30k has a special Terminator unit (I can hear the Raven Guard and Ultramarines players crying right now) and these guys are the Blood Angels' Terminator elite.

Clad in Cataphractii armor, the Crimson Paladins, also known as the Keruvim or the Storm Winds, guard the Primarch's inner sanctums and are known to serve on the battlefield as enforcers of his will or as protectors and bodyguards to commanders that the Primarch sees greatness in.

The usual white box with QR and bar codes.  While I agree with some people that these boxes could show artwork or have better stickers, I can see why since it cuts down on production costs.  These guys cost enough pretty pennies.

Glad to see Forge World continuing to use the newer instruction manuals versus their old black and white sheets.

The box comes with two smaller packages.  One of them contains almost all of the arms, the shields, and the torso fronts.  Each of these items is completely unique.  The swords are amazingly well done and the filigree is sharp.  A bit of mold slip, but nothing a file, hobby knife, or green stuff can't fix.  The detail on these is just astounding.

The back plates for each suit are all the same, and one of the heads is repeated, otherwise all of the torsos, legs, and heads are unique.  Notice the somewhat stubby assault cannon in the kit.  It makes sense, however, given the Keruvim's CQC oriented manner of war.

Think these guys are from the Blood Angels?

This is just a fantastic kit.  It really encapsulates the Blood Angels and the models themselves are a throwback to an old piece of artwork from the Visions of Heresy series.  The level of detail, as always, meets what you expect from Forge World.  Very few air bubbles and not a lot of mold slip, so I can't complain there.  And the kit was really well cleaned to the point that I won't even have to wash these before I get started.  Excellent job.

Sanguinius- Primarch of the Blood Angels

Here he is:

Sanguinius. The Great Angel, The Brightest One, Master of Hosts, Primarch of the Blood Angels.

This was a lot of fun to work on and I can offer the paint recipe I used on request.  He can only see use in games of 2,000 points or higher without using the Pride of the Legion Rite of War, but I plan to run him as often as I can.  It was amazing working on my Primarch and I smile just about every time I look at this model.

The display base is almost done, so there will be more images then.

Such a beautiful sculpt on this model.

And the wings were done in such a fantastic way.

The level of detail on the model is amazing and I continue to find new things every time I look at it.

Welcome to Our Blog

Greetings and welcome from south Louisiana.

This is the Tabletop Krewe blog, a blog dedicated to the gaming and painting endeavors of a group of hobbyists in the south.  We're fun-loving, relaxed, and into way too many hobbies for our own good.  We primarily focus on Warhammer 40,000 and the Dragon Age Tabletop RPG but our interests are many and varied.

Here, we'll somewhat chronicle our hobby loves while offering up lore, tactica, battle reports, pictures of our models, and anything else that our hobby desires fancy.  It will be about the journey on the whole and we hope that you enjoy seeing our antics and that path we take.
